Alumni Game 2026
Welcome to all McKinney Ice Hockey Club alumni and soon-to-be alumni participating in the 2026 Alumni Game. This special event celebrates the history, traditions, and enduring friendships built through our program, bringing generations of players back together on the ice. Thank you for being part of the McKinney hockey family and for helping us continue to grow and support the next wave of players who will carry this legacy forward.
Ages
Graduating Seniors to 99 all McKinney Ice Hockey Alumni who have played at least 1 season with the club and were in good standing are eligible to play.
When
January 3, 2026
6:45 PM - 9:15PM
What to bring
Your own gear (full equipment required, including helmet with visor/cage and mouthguard).
Friends and family to pack the stands, cheer, and join the fun.
Jerseys
Dark and light jerseys if you have old McKinney gear; final sweaters/teams will be assigned closer to puck drop.

Game
Ice time overview
• Total ice: 90 minutes
• Warmup: 5 minutes shared (quick laps, stretching, group photo at the end of the night or on the bench instead of on-ice if needed)
• Games: 4 round-robin games + 1 championship
• Game length: 12-minute running-time games
• Transition between games: 2–3 minutes for benches, and faceoff setup

- 0:00–5:00 – Shared warmup (all teams on ice)
- 5:00–17:00 – Game 1: Team A vs Team B
- 17:00–19:00 – Quick change/bench reset
- 19:00–31:00 – Game 2: Team C vs Team D
- 31:00–33:00 – Quick change/bench reset
- 33:00–45:00 – Game 3: Team A vs Team C
- 45:00–47:00 – Quick change/bench reset
- 47:00–59:00 – Game 4: Team B vs Team D
- 59:00–61:00 – Quick change, set up for final
- 61:00–73:00 – Championship: Top two teams
- 73:00–90:00 – Shootout Competition 3 Shooters from Each Team for bragging rights.
Rules and structure
- Four “Nations” teams, balanced rosters, 10–13 skaters and 1–2 goalies per team.
- Non-checking, emphasis on safety and fun.
- 12-minute running time; ties stand in round‑robin, brief OT/shootout only for the championship.
- Simple points: 2 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss; head‑to‑head and goal differential as tiebreakers.
Cost
$25.00 to help defray the cost of Ice Time, Scorekeepers & Referee's fees.

Other Information
The 2026 Alumni Game will feature fun skills and shootout competition, including an off‑ice shooting accuracy challenge where alumni can test their precision and compete for bragging rights. These activities are designed to be lighthearted and inclusive, giving everyone a chance to show off their hands whether they’re on the ice or in their shoes.
Throughout the event, there will be a 50/50 raffle and other fundraising activities, with proceeds going directly to support the McKinney Ice Hockey Club’s mission of developing players, covering ice costs, and expanding opportunities for current and future athletes. Alumni, families, and fans are encouraged to donate, knowing every contribution helps keep McKinney hockey strong.
After the games, there will be time set aside for post‑game photos and reconnecting with teammates, coaches, and the wider McKinney hockey community. This is a chance to capture new memories, share old stories, and celebrate the shared legacy that makes McKinney Ice Hockey special.
