Crossbar and Team Communication

Crossbar is the official communication platform used by McKinney Ice Hockey Club for scheduling, team updates, and important announcements. All members are expected to:

  • Avoid negative, inflammatory, or off-topic commentary in team chats, message threads, or forums.
  • Refrain from excessive or disruptive messaging, including messages sent late at night or early in the morning, unless truly time-sensitive.
  • Ensure that all communication reflects MIHC values of respect, teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Coaches and team managers may review and monitor communication channels and are authorized to address any inappropriate content or behavior promptly, including elevating issues to the MIHC Board or Discipline Committee as needed.

  • Mandatory reporting of any suspected misconduct, abuse, or violations of SafeSport or MIHC policy.

All players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and team staff must complete all required USA Hockey/SafeSport training, as applicable to their role, and acknowledge their understanding of digital communication standards.

  • Verbal or written warnings.
  • Restriction or removal of access to Crossbar and other team or club communication platforms.
  • Suspension from practices, games, team events, or other MIHC activities.
  • Review, sanctions, or further action by the MIHC Board of Directors and/or Discipline Committee, up to and including removal from the program.
