Kevin Bakke Coaching Bio

Personal Background
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, in 1978, Kevin Bakke began playing hockey at six. Learning the game on the outdoor rinks and playing youth hockey throughout his school years, he enjoyed the competitiveness. After high school he continued to play Rec hockey and never missed an opportunity to skate. Additional schooling brought Kevin to the US in 2001, where he got a degree as a Certified Harley Davidson Mechanic. He has since transitioned into Sporting Goods Sales and makes a home in McKinney with his wife and two daughters. After time away from coaching to be with family, he is ready to get back on skates and share his passion for the game with the next generation.

Coaching Philosophy
Coach Bakke believes your passion to play the game today should be fostered and challenged so you want to play the game as long as you can. He is focused on supporting a commitment to accountability, work ethic, sportsmanship, and player development. All players will be given the opportunity to succeed and learn. Skills are not just your hockey abilities but your understanding of how you can benefit a team. Every player will be an important ingredient to the overall success. Hockey is the best vehicle to teach life skills.
